Online Money Making - SERPS Madness!

I have woefully mentioned a number of times before (at least I think I wrote it out loud... ) that when I started this blog 4 months ago I had no SEO strategy. However, it may have been a blessing from Google, or just shear luck but yesterday I found myself on page 6 for the term 'online money making. OK, so Page 6 isn't great, but it's defiantly something to work with, and given the competitive nature of that keyword phrase I couldn’t resist a chance to get to page 1 on the Google SERPS (search engine results page) and suck up some juicy traffic.

Above is the Sitening graph that shows my position on the Google SERPS for the phrase, 'online money making' over the last few weeks. Up until today I had been planning a little 'victory post' showing how I fought the battle and made it to Page 1 in Google.

All was not to be
For a totally unknown reason I disappeared without trace from position 67 for 'online money making'. Perhaps this has something to do with the Page Rank update? Or a simultaneous algorithm change?

All is not Lost
I am going to get the to bottom of this murder mystery Sherlock Holms style. ... All I need is a Sidekick! I will do a little 'experimentation' and perhaps a little more 'blog science'. Stay Tuned!

Have you found you have suddenly disappeared off of Google or maybe shot up the SERPS?.

Make Money with Affiliate Programs

Amidst the era of AdSense it is important to look to the future and predict what the game will be. I think affiliate programs are a major contender for the future.

Why do I think it will be 'the thing' to make money with affiliate programs?
- There are so many different companies that have an affiliate program; unlike AdSence where there are a few major players with one dominating the market (Google AdSence). This means affiliate programs are more stable. There have been mutters that Google won't be able to maintain its incredible growth rate for much longer and if 'something happens' to Google people will turn to the ever present, ever reliable affiliate programs to make money with.

- Affiliate programs are very adaptable. Sure, Google Adsense is contextual and highly targeted, but affiliate programs have ultimate flexibility. They allow you to chose the precise product you think will have a high conversion rate. You can totally customise the colours and blend them perfectly (providing you know how). Some affiliate programs may not allow you to customise their code to your hearts content but that’s the great thing about them; you can just find another affiliate program that does and make money with them instead.

- Affiliate programs don't make your site look tacky (providing you know how to use them on your website/blog). Due to it's over-use AdSence is very recognisable and the telltale 'ads by Google' massively reduces the click-through rate. Affiliate programs (again provided you find the right one) don't have these picky rules and regulations that prevent you from customising the ads. This is better for everyone.

How is is better for everyone?
- You the publisher make more money.
- The affiliate program you are working with makes more money.
- The customer buys the product they want.

People argue that blending ads is sneaky and shouldn't be done. I say that with affiliate programs you are being less sneaky than with AdSence. To be successful with an affiliate program you are going to need to believe in the product you are selling and know something about it. This means the product is more likely to be reliable, because given the choice (which you are with affiliate programs) you wouldn’t promote a bad product. This is not at all true with AdSence!

People say not to link into a bad neighbourhood, but I have no idea what sites I am sending people to via my AdSence Ads!.

The downside is that it takes time to get to know your product and market it well on your site. However, most half-experienced bloggers know that putting in time and effort pays off handsomely and is better in the long run than making a few quick bucks. I believe making money with affiliate programs is the future, which is why I started myAffiliate Programs site to guide people (and myself) to find the best affiliate program to use. What do you think about the future of online advertising?

John Chow and Darren Rose Sitting in a Tree...

.... looking down on us and throwing us bones to keep us happy as we bark up at them.

Blinggest* def:
- Combination of biggest, most bling and blog e.g. 'I am the bliggest!'

Two of the blinggest* bloggers in the 'blogosphere', John Chow and Darren Rowse were seen passing AdWords messages. Darren (arguably the MOST blinggest of the two on the blogosphere) has hardly mentioned the subject. Perhaps he feels he doesn't need the feisty Canadian, after all he is currently ranked number 43 in Technorati, as opposed to John Chow has a 'mere' rank of 561. John seems adamant to keep the relationship open and proudly proclaimed it to be a "love fest". Google are apparently thrilled with the news and so am I. I am hoping Google with send them both a token gift, perhaps an 'extra-large' domain name where they can consummate their relationship.

I am a regular reader of both their blogs and feel they have taken on the role of 'idols' and are greatly admired by many 'wannabees'. In my humble opinion, bloggers who become idols should be made understand the power that is in their dextrous hands. If all they write about is how to be successful, we will end up with an entire generation of bloggers thinking that is the only important thing in life. Both John Chow and Darren Rose should have to satisfy the other needs of bloggers. I.E. they should learn to sing and dance (don't worry John your already halfway there!) and tell us stories about the 'olden days' of the Internet and teach us about the founding fathers of the blogosphere. After all, is that not what we demmand from 'offline' celebrities?

I just hope I’m not barking up the wrong tree.

Adult Friend Finder

I am starting up a new blog at Adult Friend Finder Info. I am hoping it will become a major souce of revenue. Mike from Mikesmoneymakingmission has had earned over $300 using their affiliate program. So far my new blog is extremely undeveloped and I will be working on it allot this week. There is no need to panic, I will still be updating this blog daily as well! I have outlined on my new site how you can make money with Adult Friend Finder (and meet people online if you want to?). However my new site is more 'promotional' than this site. I will re-outline the earnings program here in a more down to earth way.

Every month Adult Friend Finder Pays out over $2,000,000 to their affiliates making their program the highest paying in the online personals industry. So there is a massive market. They make payments twice a month, on the 1st and 16th of the month providing you have earned the $50 minimum for payout. They have over 25 websites that you can promote to earn money. Mike found Adult Friend Finder (over 18s only) to be the most lucrative but you can chose to promote all 25 if you like. However, you cannot 'merge' your earnings together into one big happy check i.e. If you make $70 on ADULT Friend Finder and just $30 on Friend Finder you will only be sent $70 and have to wait till you reach over $50 with Friend Finder. It is up to you.

Commision Structure:

1. Pay Per click, the quickest and simplest of the 3. You earn up to $1 for each person who clicks on your link/banner. Payment rates change depending of the amount of traffic you send.

2. By Percentage of the earnings value, (50% - 70% depending on the volume and whether that person is making his/her first order or a recurring order.

3. A simple $30 payment what ever cost of the order.

Mike chose option 2 and has made no less than $306.26 with it.

There is the option of referring others. You earn 10% of the earnings of your referrals. This is really 'luck of the draw' and depends largly on the quality of your referral. Allow me to re-iterate, I have 7 Mylot referrals and 4 of them have never even posted and the 3 active ones have only made 53 posts between them. I am going to perserveer untill I get a highly active referral, and then KEEP going. Unfortunatly this applies for all affiliate programs!

Immediately after signing up I received a friendly welcome email and some banners. I have decided not to put any Adult Friend Finder banners on this site because it would over-clutter it and there isn't really a good place for them, also they are not really appropriate. There are some on my new blog over at Adult Friend Finder Info.

January Monthly Earnings Report

No one knows why I didn'nt cover this in my January overview...even I don't. So I will briefly outline my January earnings now:

Mylot : $18.85
Adsense: $14.50
Text Link Ads : $25
Ciao: $11
Treasure Trooper: 0.50C
Cashcrate: $2.80

That’s all for January, totalling $61.30. For a first month this is pretty average. I’m expecting all these to rise a fair bit by the end of February as this blog gains momentum. Also by that stage I hopefully will have enough referrals on Bestcashrewards to start earning some BIGGER money. My AGLOCO earnings wont start to appear until March when the Viewbar is released, but I am paving the way for great things from them.

There are actually some extra earnings from a couple of survey sites but I don't have a record of how much of those earnings were from December so I left them out.

Looking up the skirt of January as she goes past

January has seen a boom in both my knowledge and for this blog. It is now just over a month old and has over 60 'decent' posts, which isn't bad for its first month. Its traffic has steadily grown although is still far from what I'd like. I used to struggle to get 100 visitors per day but now if I make just 1 post a day this blog gets at least 120 visitors. Money wise, my AdSense earnings have significantly increased since I repositioned them to be in their current positions, although much more traffic is needed to make a decent amount. I have made lots of online contacts and personally I have learnt a huge amount, which I have tried to pass on to you.

Aims for February:

- Provide a blog that people actually find useful and isn't just me displaying my knowledge.

- Increase traffic to 300 visitors a day if I make one post per day.

- Get into the Technorati top 100,000 (at the moment I’m ranked about 170,00).

- Get Dugg once (achieving this would basically mean I achieve my other aims)

- Get 100 people in my AGLOCO network (at the moment I have 25)

- Get to Level 7 on Bestcashrewards (at the moment I am on Level 3)

- Get listed in DMOZ the free directory/Alexa, (I submitted many moons ago but its still not listed; this isn't an aim I actually have any influence over). This will allow me to get a Google Pagerank at the next update and which means I will be able to display Textlink ads.

I believe every one is achievable. It will take a lot of work but will set me in good stead for the rest of the year.

How to Drive Traffic to your Blog

I have previously explained about ways of profiting from your blog and about affiliate programmes like bestcashrewards and AGLOCO. It is all well and good to be a member of such programmes, but how are you going to promote them without have a constant stream of traffic to your site?

Well, a major contributing factor is Search engine Optimisation (SEO). Traditionally this has been done by link exchanges, because each link is viewed as a 'vote' in the all-seeing eyes of the search engines. However this is all changing. The search engines are using more and more complex algorithms to help separate out the wheat from the chaff.

This does NOT mean link exchanges dead. You simply have to more picky when making them. There is little/NO value in having a link from a unknown, unrelated site. It will bring you no traffic because it doesn’t get any itself, and it is worthless in the eyes of the search engine because it is unrelated and is considered almost a sort of spam. This is BAD news for your site.

The solution is to attain links from RELEVANT AUTHORITY SITES. This means sites that are popular, get large amounts of traffic (you can find this out by using and Technorati, the biggest blog ranking site on the net). And as you know by know, they must have RELEVANT CONTENT.

This need for relevant content is why in some lines of Internet business, link exchanges are dead. If you think it through, if you are trying to sell a product, you are just putting links to your competitor’s sites right there for your customers to run off to. So DON'T use link exchanges if you are selling something!

For those of you who are not selling something, you can get link exchanges from authority sites by e.g. offering to write a review of their site containing links to their site and putting it on yours. For an example of this see my review of JohnChow.com

Successful Blogging For Money

Whether you are getting 100s, 1000s or 10,000s hits on your blog per day, you are GARENTEED to make more money if you DIVERSIFY.

What is Diversification?

It is when you generated MULTIPLE sources of income. This does not have to mean e.g. selling a physical product AND having adverts, it simply means don't put all your 'eggs in one basket'. This means you must not ONLY rely on adsense as your source of imcome. There ARE other ways to get ads on your blog out there. On of them is:

Text Link Ads

Text Link Ads have a far more stable level of income and can be displayed on the same page as adsence. The only 'down side' is your site needs fairly high levels of traffic, and good site content. In the wider schemes of things this is actually a good thing, because it motivates bloggers to fill their blog will original content and actually make them worth reading.

I have given you an alternate source of income from ads, now for another source of income altogether.

To generate income from this method you do NOT need any product to sell.

This method is known as AFFILAITE MARKETING. As everyone knows, there are scams out there so you must judge carefully. There are some affiliate programmes that have become so popular, OTHER people have taken the risk for you. One of these programmes is AGLOCO. You only have to read a few of my previous posts to understand the potential of this programme.

However this is only one affiliate programme and seeing as the lesson of the day is to DIVERSIFY, I will let you know about 1 more. This one is called bestcashrewards. I have a post about this in my archives. You can either go take a look at that, or click here to take a look.

And there it is. People ask me; 'why do you do all that stuff online?'. I used to have no choice that to say 'because I can' in a dramatic manner, now I can say, 'because I make lots of money'. And YOU can too!

Traffic Tips for Beginners

As you have all noticed, I have taken a break from explaining my experience of making money online. This is not because my experience has stopped, nor because I have no advice to give you. It is in fact because I have been so busy finding out about new methods that I have had not choice but to make 'short n sweet' posts.

A very useful way of making money online is by bringing more traffic to your website/blog. This can be done a number of different ways, all off which should be utilised.

1. Get higher ranked in the search engines.
2. Have your site listed in the main directories.
3. Have your site listed in niche directories.
4. Publicise your site in forums e.g. Mylot.
5. Publicise your site in free classified ads, e.g. Vivastreet.
6. Have your site jam-packed with useful, original content.
7. By getting links to your site displayed on other sites of prominence.

Number 1.(debatably the most important) can be achieved by using the other methods. This is because each link to your site acts as a 'vote' in the all-seeing eyes of the search engine. You can go about gathering links by browsing blogs and requesting link exchanges to blogs that are related to yours, have a high quality of content and (hopefully) have a higher level of web traffic than you. This method, although rewarding (as you develop a more personal relationship with your fellow bloggers) can be very slow, and ineffective.

Untimatly, it all comes down the OC (like everything in the world...) ORIGINAL CONTENT. If you content is good enough you will find people coming back for more, and if its REALLY good they will tell their friends and you will have to spend less time completeing the tedious other methods.

I will be explaining more about the other key ways in the near future, so stay tuned!

Instant Money Online

As you all know from my previous posts, there are many different possible ways to make money online. Perhaps by surveys, paid-to-read emails and a whole range of affiliate programs. Although some of these do have potential, they are riddled with the danger of being scams, or simply paying small amounts. The advantage of these methods is that they are free, providing you choose wisely, and so the worst thing that the company could take from you is time and effort, but not your money.

Another possible route is by blogging, the 'blogosphere' has now amassed over many thousands of blogs, where little people from all over the world are all looking to make money online the modern way. They are all at different stages along the learning curve of blogging for money, but some of them have been stuck in the same place for sometime. They may have run out of ideas or given up, but this is just separating the wheat from the chaff, (although I do encourage you all not to give up). I believe blogging is a more long-term method than allot of people realise. Many people think if they just quickly throw together a page and shove a load of ads on it the money will just start rolling in. However, the more experienced of us know that is not the case. To be successful a blog must be ALIVE. It must be regularly updated with original content, to keep people coming back for more, which will gradually build up its reader base.

It may seem like I am denouncing every method available, including blogging, but I assure you I am not. I like the fact that blogging takes involvement, and can provide a useful service to people.

The important thing is, DONT put all your eggs in one basket. I myself am a member of AGLOCO, Bestcashrewards and Mylot as well as being a blogger. After all, as Thomas Edison said, "I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work".

Bestcashrewards

Hello world! I soon will be adding exiting new articles to this blog! There will be a range of topics including archaeology (which I am studying), and more reviews of the most popular blogs out there to find out if they really deserve all the fuss. I am gradually shifting away from moneymaking advice in order to make this blog a thing of real interest to its readers. If you have suggestions for new topics go ahead and say them, you never know I might like your idea!

I do however have one more moneymaking site too tell you all about.

Bestcashrewards is a fairly new affiliate scheme, in which you get paid for viewing online seminars. Your earnings (once you have enough referrals) is $3000-$40000 per week, so there is potential there, despite the large need for referrals.

Bestcashrewards intends to reward you (the consumer) and the advertiser. If there are any advertisers out there this is what you have been looking for.

Advertisers have the opportunity to promote their product/service to thousands of people.

Once you have the referral requirement you get paid for each referral who watches an online seminar each week (were advertisers give a talk or ‘seminar’) talk live, online, to you. I suggest you have a chat to the moderators, who are online to help you 24/7 via mic (you can type your questions to them if you don’t have a mic. You can talk to them before making your decision about signing up, oh and signing up is free.

Mylot

Hi everyone,
I have briefly mentioned the Mylot forums before, but I do not feel I did them justice. They are one of the many free money-making tools available to us on the net.

What is Mylot?
Mylot is a forum, with over 51,000 members. It is growing very quickly becase its users get paid in US dollars per post.

What exactly do the members get paid for?
Members get paid for:
1. Starting a new discussion. (the more replies they get the more money is earned, so they have to make them interesting!)
2. Uploading relevant images to their discussion.
3. Uploading relevant images to a reply they make to someone elses discussion.
4. Replying (posting) to someone elses discussion (better the post the more is earned)
4. Uploading images to their 'interests' section.

This can make posting on mylot actually quite enjoyable, as users strive to make a community that discusses only topics of interest.

Note: There is never any fee, I only ever talk about free ways of making money online.

My Tip:
Invite people to be be in your 'freinds' section, (dont worry you dont have to know them personally). You can then post in each others topics with benefits you both.

You can join mylot here:

Best of luck!

Decent Free Link Directory

Hi everyone,
It was in the early hours of this morning when I stumbeled upon a promising directoy, which has a stonking list of sites that you can submit your blog/website address too. Some of those sites are free, some are not.

This is the site:

http://www.manhattanservice.com/freedirectories.html

They offer to have your link submitted to all of them for a fee, which I declined as I am learning and teaching how to make money online for FREE. Instead I have been going down the list 'manually', submitting my site to the free directories. This may seem boring and slow (and it is!), but I have no doubt it will bring me more traffic.

Hope this is helpfull!

Matt Jones

Textlink Ads

Hi everyone,
As i'm sure you all already know, My blog contains my experience about making money online which I hope will bring you success with your online quest.

My latest positive experience has been with Text Link Ads . They specialize in placing static html links on high quality, high traffic websites. They work in a similar way to google adsence, and target specific ads to your website.

The advantage is, that you can put up to 10 of their ads per page, which you can place in strateigic locations to maximise revenue.

The downside is that you need to have a developed blog/website, with a fairly high rate of web traffic in order to qualify to display their ads. However, if you do, then they are another usefull method of increasind your revenue, and contain little/no risk as it is free to sign up with them.

You can apply to get textlink ads here:

Text Link Ads

I hope you find this useful. Let me know about your results and ask me any questions you may have, I am interested to hear about your experiences online too.

My Online Money Making Experience

I have tried a number of different methods of 'making easy money online' and I can assure you, none of them are all that easy. This is true, given that the few that actually work have taken months of sifting and experimenting online to even find them and separate the wheat from the chaff.

NOTE: NONE of the sites I have listed EVER charge a sign up fee.

PAID ONLINE SURVEYS:
are the first way I tried out, with mixed success levels. I signed up to about 15 or so diffferent survey sites, all with the promise of 'regular surveys and exiting prizes!' All was not to be.

Below is a brief summary of the sites I signed up to, and actually sent me anything at all, (the other 5 or so didn't even send me a welcome email). I have been a member of these sites for over 3 months now.

NOVATRIS - Would NOT recommend, they sent me a welcome email and nothing else.

SURVEY CLUB - Would NOT recommend, they are claimed they would send me surveys which and advice about survey sites, all they sent were a couple of very unuseful adverts in my email and were not very helpful at all.

ACOP or 'American Consumer Opinion' was moderatly unsucessful. They sent me a couple of surveys, but not enough to even requestt a pay out. This may be becasue I was not in their target market, so you may have better luck.

SURVEY SAVVY - Would NOT recommend, they sent me a welcome email and nothing else.

GLOBAL TEST MARKET - Have given me a mixed message, they have only sent a couple of surveys, but that could be because I am not their target market, you may have better luck.

TEST AND VOTE (TO LUNA) - Would recommend. At first, to get started there are a number of fun ways to gain points(exchangeable for cash, or lottery tickets, amoung other things) on their site without even answering any surveys. They started sending me surveys after about 1 month of being member and these surveys were woth a lot of points.

LIGHTSPEED PANEL - Would recommend. This is my favourite and most reliavle survey site. They send me a survey every couple of days, each woth 100-200 'lightspeed points', which are exchangeable to money on paypal, and lots of other things.

IPOINTS - Would recommend. Ipoints, however, is not really a survey site. They have other offers online, and reward you for signing up with their affiliates and 'pay' you with unusual gifs, e.g. a cruise to Spain.

CIAO - Would recommend. They send me surveys fairly regularly, worth REAL money. You can build up a profile on CIAO, it has great potential that I am yet to explore.

NPDOR - Would recommend. They dont send me very many surveys, perhaps 1 every 2 weeks, but they have a sweepstakes that makes winning more likely.

NOTE: These sites do NOT reward you for getting referrals, what I have said here has no hidden motive.

AFFILIATE MARKETING
I am a member of 2 affilate marketing schemes.

AGLCOCO rewards you for browing the net using their trademark 'viewbar' (once availabe).

The way it works is simple. If you browse the net using their viewbar for 5 hours per month, they pay you whether or not you have ANY affiliates. You also get paid for when your affiliates use it, and when their affiliates use it. In this way it is possible to make a fair sum of money. However to be sucessful you must be able to get affiliates, although this is not especually hard because AGLOCO is a name that carries respect and people seem to know isn't a scam.

1 HOUR OF SURF TIME = 1 AGLOCO SHARE
AGLOCO are planning to be on the stock market by the end of 2007, which presents us with an oppoutunity. Members get 0.25 shares per hour people in their network.

There are therefore 3 possible outcomes:
AGLOCO sinks, and doesnt grow fast enough, resulting in its members getting their earnings from their browsing using the viewbar, and nothing more.
or
AGLOCO grows like crazy and the IPO is successful, in which case the members shares which they have accumulated may be worth a fortune.
or
AGLOCO grows like crazy and attrats the attention of the big boys like google and yahoo. AGLOCO would then be bought out, like youtube, except the members of AGLOCO will make big money from it.

Unfortunatly we do not know which of these 3 scenarios will actually happen. I believe it is worth being a part of.

You can sign up for AGLOCO here:
www.agloco.com/r/BBBK6378

The second affiliate scheme is BESTCASHREWARDS.
On BESTCASHREWARS you get paid by viewing online seminars, (1 or 2 30minute seminars per week).

Unfortunatly you can not earn anything without affiliates, BUT the overall income potentiall is MUCH higher ($3000-$40000 per week!, once you have enough referrals).

It is multi-tiered, which means that you get paid for referrals your referrals have made several steps down the line. I.e. you get $1.44 for each person in your downline who watches that seminar each week. So, if you were to get 3 referrals, and those 3 to get 3 more, and those 3 to get 3 more etcetc, untill you have a matter of 1000s. Therefore if say 2000 people below you watched the seminar, ...well you do the math.
This programe does require more commitment than AGLCOCO, but I belive it will be worth it in the long run.

You can sign up to BESTCASHREWARDS here:
http://bestcashrewards.com/affiliates/t.php?rid=2080

The Final way I have used to make money online, is on the MYLOT forums.
On these forums you get paid per post, and for uploading relevant images to discussions. The amounts earned here are small, but it is fun, and you can built a friends network.
You can sign up to MYLOT here:
Mylot

and there you have it. All of my experience written down on a page...I hope you find it useful and I wish you all sucess in your quest to make money online!
